Our signature class and most popular class (our original namesake) consisting of modified ballet exercises and stretches done from a chair, wheelchair or standing at the “barre.” All choreographed to music and taught by a professional dancer. This class exercises key muscle groups, balance, posture, flexibility and general body conditioning to provide a one-of-a-kind brain and body workout specifically designed to meet the needs of aging adults.
Vitality Balance Barre (55+)
Balance Barre is a gentle dance-based “barre” fitness class designed for adults 55+. This standing class is great for those with Arthritis who are looking for a non-impact fitness class to improve balance, posture, coordination, strength and flexibility. The class is gentle, while providing a powerful workout that utilizes the brain as much as the body to discover the dancer in you.
Vitality Stretch Yoga
No mat needed! Our certified yoga instructor guides the class through chair stretches, postures and flows to create a mindful and invigorating yoga experience, accompanied by music. Each class has an artistic edge that creates synergy for the mind and the body, helping promote improved energy and a refreshing way to start or end the day.
Vitality Dancing Through the Decades
Step into our time machine as we dance our way through hits of the 20’s, 30’s, 40’s through today! Each decade carried with it different styles and steps and we’re capturing the essence of each with this fun exercise class. This chair dance class will inspire memories and brain engagement as well as activate the entire body through entertaining choreography that keeps people dancing (and signing) along to some of the greatest hits of all time.
Vitality Line Dance
Keep those feet movin’, tappin’ and chasse-ing! This class is a fun time for all fusing adaptive line dance choreography for a full body dance workout. Enjoy classic country tunes, a relaxed atmosphere and fancy footwork, adapted for the level of the group and done either from the safety of the chair or up on your feet. The brain will be active just as much as the body in this hoedown of a workout.
Vitality Aquatic Dance
Enjoy flowing ballet movements and “barre” steps while toning and stretching muscles using the natural resistance of the water. It’s easy on the joints, gentle and a fun and effective way to get a great workout.
Vitality Fitness Fusion
Not into dance? That’s ok! This is a more traditional fitness class helping work every muscle with low impact, chair exercise that both men and women can get into. Every class incorporates body-weight exercises, stretching, balance and strengthening. Some equipment is used, when available. The class follows the same Vitality structure using music and coordinated conditioning moves to utilize the whole body, and mind, in a fun full-body workout.
